PWM value
10 Sep. 2018 09:52
Hi
I would like to know what the PWM value in the Mezon telemetry consists of, and what usage the value may have.
Here is what the manual says at page 23:
"Impulse/PWM Duty – displays the actual pulse width of the throttle
channel and the voltage being consumed by the motor as percent of
the total battery voltage!"
In the telemetry screen I see a 50% when running low RPM and 100% when running high. Throttle is on a switch with the same percentages as mentioned.
Could Jeti give us somer more detailed informations or an explanation of: "actual pulse width of the throttle
channel and the voltage being consumed by the motor as percent of
the total battery voltage!"
Thank you in advance

See the example (page 22):
Actual power in percent :
R 80% - the motor is running, the value represents the motor voltage in percent
B 100% - the motor is braking, the value represents the braking effect in percent
B 0% - the motor stopped, no brake
(simply 0% = motor is without power, 100% = full power).

Hi Regnar,
for the first part of your question: The PWM value is a transmitter system value that can approximately accept values between 1000 and 2000. This value represents the proportional pulse width that can be evaluated by servos or ESC's. For example, if the pulse width has a value of 1500, this corresponds to the center position of the servo or 50% power setting for an ESC.
For the second part of your question: Admittedly, using this value when using a switch as throttle is not so interesting. This value is more interesting if you use a transmitter stick as throttle. Then you can see at the hand of the telemetry values which throttle position is necessary, for example, to keep the plane in horizontal flight.
Greetings
Jety

Hi Regnar,
the "actual pulse width of the throttle channel" is to understand as the pulse width which is currently set with the throttle stick. This results in a voltage currently present on the motor, which corresponds to a value of X percent of the total battery voltage. For example, the voltage on the motor is currently 10 volts set by throttle stick, which corresponds to about 71% for a battery with a nominal voltage of 14 volts.
