Jeti RFID Battery-logger
11 Nov. 2016 06:15what data format did you use for the RFID (NFC) battery data?
I have done a wireless BID adaption with a friend in order to transfer the BID-DATA to a Robbe/MPX BID charger:
onki.de/uebermich/bauberichte/288-bid2nf...hip-fuer-robbe-lader
I would be a pity if everyone is using a different data structure which is incompatible but using the same hardware (MFRC522 Reader and Mifare 1k classic tags).
Battery data is quite simple and every time the same. Using the same data structure for the given parameters and just add new one if required would be a perfect and compatible solution.
Looking forward to seeing your solution

Re: Re:Jeti RFID Battery-logger
11 Nov. 2016 07:14My original intentuin was to make Revo-compatible propietary product I could manufacture and sell. Revo offered co-operation in Helifreak so I contacted them and they promised to come back to me, they never did.
So I did a cheap unit anyone can build and use instead.
There's several charger-manufacturers with bump-technology and all of them are different. If we would know all of these memory-blocks and their constructuon it could be possible to make a universal tag.
But like in Revo's case, that information is behind NDA and is not freely available, and that means it cannot be shared in a product built on Arduino.
So, in essence, practically impossible to make the wanted universal operation.
But, for Your use you could change the code so same memory-blocks are used, this is open-source, alter it as you wish, just remember to share
I think in the end that a DIY-unit built for 15€ (including 10 rfid-stickers) is better for all of us than a propietary, more expensive unit with closed code.
I don't immediately see it possible for me to sell these as ready made, I think it would be wrong since code used is open-source.

11 Nov. 2016 07:29what dimensions has your RFID-Unit (not the tag). I only fly small helicopters up to actually 300-class. Therefor I think this DIY-Units are far to big for my purpose.

11 Nov. 2016 08:41did you use the standard MFRC522 reader board or did you create your own?

Re: Jeti RFID Battery-logger
11 Nov. 2016 08:42The footprint isn't all. How thick are the units. When I look at my T-Rex 250 and my Oxy3 there isn't a lot of space especially around the battery.
On top of my battery (Oxy) or below the battery tray (T-Rex) there is actually a MuLi6 for single cell voltage. In both cases it is tight fit to install
the canopy. I can't see, ho to install that units in my helicopters actually.
best regards
Wolfgang
