Google Map on your transmitter screen

Hallo,


ich benütze in all meinen Jets das GPSII oder GPSIII für den Kreisel entweder an einer Mercury SRS oder Pionier. Kann ich mir zugleich auch einstellen das wenn ich über die Platz bzw. Flugraumgrenze komme eine Warnung erhalte? Alos z.B. von meinen Startpunkt aus nach Westen darf ich 300m fliegen nach Osten 600m und nach Süden 400m. Die funktion mit dem GPS zur Geschwindigkeit für den Kreisel soll aber erhalten bleiben.

Sender ist eine Jeti DC24


Wie und wo könnte ich sowas einstellen? Wenn es mit dem GPS Sensor nicht funktioniert, gibt es dann eine andere Möglichkeit dies umzusetzen?

P.s. Ich habe schon das gleiche Thema unter Fremdprodukte sowie auch im Pwerbox Forum gestellt, jedoch keine Antwort noch erhalten. Eventuell bin ich ja unter diesen Beitrag richtig und kann mir Schritt für Schritt weiterhelfen in Deutsch Englisch ist jetzt da nicht so meins....

I hope you can read this with an English to German translator.
Yes this app can do that. You will need to watch Harry Curzon's video which explains how to set it up. Please start at www.jetiluadfm.app I think you can watch Harry's videos with a German translation. Setting things up is not simple, but Harry explains it well. Perhaps some of the other members of this group who are native German speakers will be willing to help you?

Hi everyone.. we now have a second method to get the app downloaded for those pilots who are having an issue with ssl connections ... as an alternative you can download a zip file from the app's website ... there is now a link on the popup window that comes up after creating a repository.

You will get a zip file of a folder containing the DFM-Maps directory and the DFM-Maps.lua executable file. Please extract the zip file and copy the directory DFM-Maps and the executable DFM-Maps.lua to the Apps/ folder on your transmitter.

This is a manual version of what the lua app manager in the TX wizard does. The TX wizard is preferred and works for almost all of our pilots .. but for a few who are having an issue we hope this helps.

Recently Espritmodel.com, Jeti's US distributor, promoted the Elite GPS logger device in conjunction with an app that helps pilots steer their model home if they lose sight of it. I suspect that the app is tied to the features of the Elite GPS and cannot be used with Stephan Merz's GPS logger (sm-modellbau.de), which is popular in Germany.

Since I am still using the first generation DS-16, I cannot test it, but only ask questions.
Can the DFM-maps app discussed here also do this? Or could one derive a simple homecoming app from DFM-maps that works with SM-GPS loggers or any GPS devices?

Hi Klaus,

As far as I can see, the app that Esprit is showing is one that comes from the company that makes the Elite GPS datalogger. They make the app to show off the capabilities of their device. I do have one of these and it is a very nice device. One unique feature is that it has a magnetic compass built in. We can use it with our Maps app. Their app is much simpler than ours and may be perfect for some folks who don't need or want all the things that we do.

The feature you are referring to, at least as I read the announcement, is not to bring the aircraft home, but to show its last position on the map if it should crash. Any app that shows the GPS position on a map will be able to do this .. the aircraft location will simply sit at the last GPS coordinates received by telemetry before power was lost. This makes it a lot easier to find the aircraft, especially if it is lost in an area that is hard to search.

There is also an interesting app described here on jetiforum.de that can show a QR code of the lat/long coordinates if the transmitter does not have a mapping app installed.

If you think the app has some other capability than what I described, then please correct me!

In the middle of this page you will find a section "Navigation and Artificial Horizon"...If you ever get lost while in the air, you can get back home by following the arrow on the screen and listening to the voice directions.

BTW, do you have a European source of supply for the Elite GPS? I could not find a dealer in Germany
